Nevena For Northcote

Community candidate

Tomorrow we're taking to the polls in Alphington, Fairfield, Northcote, Thornbury, and parts of Preston.

I'm running as an independent and my campaign has been centred on drug law reform, homelessness advocacy and grassroots political action. I've been hitting the pavement almost every day, delivering the good word of 'Nevena For Northcote' to the letterboxes of houses across the electorate.

I've been attending candidates' forums, engaging with community action groups, and meeting people all over the shop to hear their concerns, comments, and occasional compliments.

But I need your help to make a splash in the polls.

When independents poll highly, government and other parties are more likely to listen to them when they're campaigning on behalf of causes. Numbers talk VERY loudly in politics.

When you vote 1 for an independent, you get to vote twice; you send a message that democracy needs many voices and that we're tired of two-horse candidate races.

Vote 2 for your political party of choice, to ensure your vote ends up with them. Unlike many other candidates, my preferences are going to Greens' candidate Lidia Thorpe.

So, why not take two bites of the democracy sausage and put 1 in my box this Saturday 18th November?
